If you’ve been looking to grow your newsletter audience, boost and diversify your newsletter revenue, or seamlessly integrate new tools, including AI, for a more efficient workflow, you’re in luck!
We are excited to announce our new advanced, low-cost, online course, “Newsletters 2.0: Strategies to Delight Audiences and Grow Revenue.” Running from September 9 to October 4, 2024, this four-week course is designed to level up your email newsletter game and help you stay ahead of the latest trends, audience needs, and technological advancements. You will dive into strategies for creating engaging content, developing consistency that builds trust, and building a loyal community.
For only $95, this low-cost advanced training offers a deeper dive into newsletters with a smaller group of participants, providing a more personalized learning experience and closer interaction with the instructors compared to our free introductory courses. You will get access to a detailed email strategy blueprint designed to guide you through the course and provide practical next steps for applying your learning directly to your newsletter.
Taught by Caroline Porter from the National Trust for Local News, Emily Roseman from the Institute for Nonprofit News, and Joseph Lichterman from The Lenfest Institute for Journalism—the three instructors from our previous successful “Newsletter Strategies for Journalists” free online course—this new advanced course brings you an incredible opportunity to take your newsletter to the next level with their guidance, expertise and extensive experience.
In this course, you’ll learn how to evaluate your current newsletter strategy, conduct in-depth audience research, and discover new revenue opportunities. You’ll also explore practical ways to streamline your workflows with advanced tools, including artificial intelligence.
Our instructors will host live office hours that will be recorded to ensure that participants who are unable to attend can access them at a later date. You will also hear from leading experts via video interviews: Jehadu Abshiro from Advocate Media, Linda Shapley from Colorado Community Media, Ashley Hoffman of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Sarah Hoek from The Daily Maverick, and Simon Galperin from The Jersey Bee.
The course is organized into four weekly modules, as well as one introductory module that is available immediately after registration:
- Module 1 – The Three C’s of Success for Newsletters: Learn how to master Content, Consistency, and Community Engagement to make your newsletter stand out and to build a loyal audience.
- Module 2 – Knowing and Growing Your Audience: Discover strategies to understand your audience better, set goals, and grow your subscriber base with both organic and paid methods.
- Module 3 – Growing and Diversifying Revenue: Explore ways to boost and diversify your revenue streams, and learn effective strategies for monetizing your newsletter.
- Module 4 – Efficient Workflows and Future-Proofing: Improve your production processes with tools and techniques, including AI, and learn how to adapt your newsletter to future trends and technologies.
This asynchronous course is designed to be flexible, allowing you to progress at your own pace while staying on track with weekly activities. Each module includes video lectures, presentations, readings, optional live office hours, and discussion forums to provide an engaging learning experience. At the end, a certificate of completion for those who meet the course requirements will be available.
